Bio

Hi there! Having moved to Sydney from New Zealand earlier this year, I specialise in teaching adults of all levels on cello, voice, and conducting.

I have played as a professional orchestral cellist for 15 years, and taught cello students of all ages and levels across that time.

As a singer, I also teach voice, with a focus on classical and choral vocal technique. Enabling people to sing with confidence, enjoyment, and a foundation of strong technique is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching.

Additionally, I am an orchestral and choral conductor and am currently a Conducting Fellow at Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and a participant of the Australian Conducting Academy, having previously been the Director of the Christchurch Youth Orchestra in 2025. I enjoy greatly enjoy assisting those who are curious about conducting, as well as community and school conductors who wish to revisit their technique and rehearsal skills.

I deeply love working with adults to keep the joy of music in their lives, as well as those who are beginning their musical journey for the very first time.

Teaching Info

Whether you are a total beginner or someone with more experience who wants to revisit their technique or simply check whether they’re going in the right direction, I am here to help.

Perhaps you are a community orchestral cello player or a choral singer who hasn’t had lessons in years and wants some structure and guidance. Or perhaps you want to audition for an ensemble and need some help in your preparation. Or perhaps, devastatingly, you have been told you in the past that you “can’t sing in tune” and you would like to finally gain self-assurance by learning how to pitch and sing with confidence.

And for those who are community or school conductors, you may have some burning questions about what your next steps may be in terms of gesture and rehearsal strategy.

Whether you would like ongoing lessons or just a handful of sessions to make sure you’re on the right track, please feel free to get in touch for a chat or a trial lesson.

With my extensive background in performing, teaching, and educational psychology, I create a warm and welcoming environment where everybody can thrive, regardless of where they are on their musical journey.

No enquiry is too small. I look forward to hearing from you.
