Bio
Hi, I’m Brendan, and I’ve been passionate about music for as long as I can remember. I believe learning the piano should be enjoyable, inspiring, and tailored to every student’s individual interests and goals.
I hold a Bachelor of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, an AMusA in Piano, and a Master of Teaching. Alongside private teaching, I work full-time as a Music teacher at a leading independent school in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, where I teach students from Years 7–12 and prepare senior students for the NSW HSC Music course.
Over the years, I’ve also worked extensively as an accompanist, performing with singers and instrumentalists in rehearsals, examinations, concerts, and competitions. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of performance and musicianship that I love sharing with my students.
Teaching Info
Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to the piano after a break, preparing for AMEB or school examinations, or working towards the HSC, I aim to create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and challenging in the right ways. I also have a particular passion for music theory and jazz harmony, and I’m happy to help students strengthen these skills alongside their piano playing.
My goal is to help every student become a confident, well-rounded musician while developing a genuine love of music. I strive to make lessons supportive, enjoyable, and rewarding, celebrating each student’s progress along the way.
