Bio
Oliver Beard is a working songwriter, composer and performer based in Sydney, NSW.
Oliver graduated from The Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Composition Course as the recipient of Iris Oakley Sutor Award for Outstanding Composition, and as the winner of the 2019 Orchestral Composition Competition. Oliver has studied under some of Australia’s most notable composers, including Carl Vine and Paul Stanhope.
Oliver’s work in contemporary music has received support from Apple Music, Triple J and Sydney’s FBi Radio Station.
Teaching Info
Oliver is adept in the instruction of songwriting, composition, orchestration and arrangement. He is comfortable instructing in all genres ranging from pop music to neo-classical music. Oliver believes in encouraging students to explore all facets of music creation and is capable of delivering instruction in both recorded and notated musics.
Your initial lesson with Oliver will take the form of a consultation, from which a bespoke lesson plan will be created so as Oliver can help you to achieve your personal musical goals.
Oliver’s preferred softwares are Logic Pro X for DAW based music creation and Sibelius for notation.
Lessons will take place over Zoom.
