Stories on the Flute with Karen O’Keefe

Hello,

My name is Karen O’Keefe and I live in Marrickville with my husband, two daughters  and our rescue greyhound Chief. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Newcastle Conservatorium and have been performing and teaching the flute for almost 30 years.

I enjoy teaching children and fostering their love for music, and am experienced in preparing students for AMEB exams and auditions. Lessons are lighthearted, engaging and fun.

As a mother of two school aged kids who play in their respective school bands (high school and primary) I know how important it is for students to feel confident with their band material. If students are a member of their school concert band I’m happy to work with that material, ensuring that he/she can approach the music in school with confidence.
